Welp, guess I need to get an xbone in preparation for Fallout4 and Forza6. Was planning on building a desktop but I feel like they may be fine on the new console. Thoughts?

Forza 5 was the same, I believe. It’s not that the xbone isn’t capable of those numbers, it’s that 3rd party devs really haven’t spent the time to make it work.

I got an XBone a while back for the giggles and for Dragon Age, and that’s most likely what I’ll be playing Fallout 4 on. I think being on a derivation of the Skyrim engine there’s no particular reason to think it’ll be much better on PC than console - I think the engine will hit its limits not too far from where the next gen consoles do. I could be wrong, though.

Forza6 looked absolutely spectacular. But then again, i’m a console gamer first and PC gamer only occasionally.

Bethesda games are always better on PC because of mods. Seriously, they make such a massive difference. Insanely massive difference. Cannot be overstated.

Depends on how much they allow. Steam has its own mod workshop, but they have way more restrictions in terms of file sizes and script extenders as well. Things like FOSE or Skyse aren’t considered mods, but need to be installed for the larger mods like MZC or creating new NPCs.

I only play 3 games, Forza - Battlefield - Fallout (used to play Assassins Creed, but its too crazy now and no puzzles since 2)

My wallet feels the pain already. The Forza and backwards compatibility make a one sound really enticing right now.

Cant wait for EA later today to see some Battlefront gameplay. From what I've seen from various sources, it's every bit as amazing as that teaser from Star Wars celebration.

I really love my XBone. I got it when it first came out, and I barely play it because my wife is usually too busy watching Netflix on it. Oh the joys of a small apartment with only 1 TV.

That said, when I do get to play it, I think it’s great. The graphics on all the games I play (mostly FPS and some Forza) are great, and I’ve always liked the XBox controllers over the Playstation.

I used to build my own PCs for gaming and I enjoyed that. But at the same time it felt like a huge money sink and there were the times when a game didn’t work due to some driver issue or something and then you were stuck waiting for a patch. Not that it doesn’t happen on consoles *cough*Watchdogs*cough* but it’s much less frequent and the problems are usually remedied faster since it’s a common platform.

XBONE owner checking in - I’ve had it for around a year and I’m very happy despite how short on storage space I am. Definitely get one of the larger HD options. The best graphics I’ve seen so far were from Horizon 2, which I’d compare to a middle-of-the-road gaming PC. I bet devs will get better and better at maxing out the system’s graphics capabilities though.
